Lock Haven swimmers top Wellsboro

Wellsboro drops last home meet, 6-4

The Wellsboro Summer Swim Team was in the pool on Tuesday, July 14 as they hosted Lock Haven at Packer Park. The Hornets fell to Williamsport 6-4 on the night, to bring their 2016 summer record to 2-2-1.

Wellsboro’s 8 and under girls lost 38-15 and the 8 and under boys won 34-21. Lock Haven won the 9-10 girls races 40-34 and Wellsboro won the 9-10 boys 40-22. Lock Haven won the 11-12 girls 50-24 and Wellsboro won the boys races 31-26.

Lock Haven took 3 of the 4 remaining races, winning the 13-14 girls 46-28, the 13-14 boys 31-29, and the 15-18 boys 46-31. Wellsboro’s 15-18 girls on 41-38.

Wellsboro had 85 swimmers compete against a very strong group of Lock Haven’s 53 swimmers, with 75 recording individual personal best times during the meet.

The team will return to action on Saturday, July 16 for their final dual meet of the summer on the road against Central Columbia.
